Year of the “tion” continued…
If you remember my first post of the New Year, I declared 2015 as the year of the “tion.” The first “tion” on the list is: dedication. If you look up the word in the dictionary you will find numerous definitions; however, two of them stand out above the rest. They are very powerful and warrant some serious thought. One definition is: complete and wholehearted devotion. What is it, if anything, that you give that kind of attention to? In such a busy world, what is it that you have time to focus on wholeheartedly? One thing we know for sure, no matter what it is that we may say, the thing that we give our complete and wholehearted attention to is where our devotion truly resides. So, the question to ask is–do your words and actions match?
Dedication also means: the act of officially saying that something was created for a particular purpose. And so it is with you! I am officially saying that you were created for a particular purpose. Some of you may already know what that purpose is, and others of you may not have made that discovery yet, but dedication is required by both. If you know your purpose, hopefully you are going at it full force—people are depending on you! If you have yet to discover purpose, this is where dedication comes into play for you—search for it with your complete and wholehearted attention! Believe it or not, people are waiting on you, and someone’s life may even depend on it.
In 2015, let’s agree with what it says in Hebrews 12:1 of the Living Bible: “Since we have such a huge crowd of men of faith watching us from the grandstands, let us strip off anything that slows us down or holds us back, and especially those sins that wrap themselves so tightly around our feet and trip us up; and let us run with patience the particular race that God has set before us.”
This is the year to remove ALL excuses! No more doubt, fear, wavering, negative thinking, and procrastination. Let’s devote ourselves to getting down to business!
More to come, so stay tuned…
